Arctic opens new office in Switzerland
Arctic has decided to establish an office in Switzerland – an important financial center with an increasing share of Norwegian investors, business founders and international capital.
OSLO, January 16, 2024
By April 1 this year, we will establish a presence from our office in Zurich. Arctic will rent its own office within a shared office space, among other Norwegian and Nordic investors. The office itself appears sleek, modern, and is conveniently located in the city center.
To operate in Switzerland and realize our business goals, we have created a new company called Arctic Securities AG:
– The timing is right for Arctic. With Arctic Securities AG and its physical presence in Zurich, we will have access to international capital within several core products and sectors for Arctic – obviously in addition to Norwegian investors and business founders. We will be able to cover several large institutional investors through our offices in Zurich, Stockholm, Hamburg, and Oslo, says Mads Syversen, CEO of Arctic.
– We will offer the very best of Arctic
Kjetil Bakken, Head of Group Strategy in Arctic, will soon move to Switzerland and run our operation in the alpine country. He has 20+ years of experience within investment banking across relevant products and sectors and worked several years for Swiss UBS Investment Bank in London prior to joining Arctic in 2007.
– An important part of Arctic’s strategy is to utilize the power of our entire business. Arctic and its subsidiaries are here to provide our customers with a premium service offering. Active participation and some travel will be required from several employees across our group to offer clients and prospects the very best of Arctic, Bakken says.
We observe an increased focus on Switzerland among our competitors – some of which have already established themselves:
– I firmly believe that our presence in Switzerland will enable us to better cover investors and relevant companies. We will bring in relevant companies to meet with investors in Switzerland – both Norwegian and institutional investors, Bakken says.
