Nordea chooses Arctic as their preferred LEI partner

Nordea and Arctic announced earlier this month a partnership for “Arctic LEI service” to be the preferred partner for delivery of Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) codes for Nordea´s Nordic clients. - We have the last year seen a need to guide our customers to comply with increasing regulation in the financial markets. Rather than building own services from the ground, we decided to partner up with best-in-class solutions, such as Arctic´s LEI Service, says Hans-Erik Lind, Head of Nordic Customer Experience and offerings in Nordea.

A LEI is a 20-character identifier that identifies distinct legal entities that engage in financial transactions. The LEI code became obligatory for all market participants on January 1, 2018. All LEI codes must be renewed annually.

In the fall of 2017 Arctic Securities launched a service that made registering an LEI both fast and intuitive for Nordic companies. Arctic identified early on the complexity for many to register on foreign sites or stock exchanges.

 All LEI codes must be renewed annually. If you have already registered your LEI code, a renewal mail will be sent to you 30 days prior to the expiration date of your current LEI.
