Arctic co-hosted a seminar on ‘new’ Nordic offshore wind in Stockholm on March 16, together with law firms Haavind (Norway), Mannheimer Swartling (Sweden) and Castren Snellmann (Finland).

We had 65 people attend in person and a further 30 virtually. We had attendees from a good proportion of the industry – developers large and small active in the Nordics and elsewhere as well as infrastructure investors and even lending banks with presenters providing an update on the markets and discussing their approaches, in particular looking about how new offshore generation will integrate with new demand driven by the Energy Transition.

For Arctic, the opportunity at present is mainly M&A/JV formation between big international players and smaller locals and capital raising for the locals and this process of partnership development and the trading of stakes in assets/businesses will continue as the market develops further.
