Where we can make a difference
Emissions avoided through the use of a particular product or service are referred to as "scope 4" emissions. It is by this parameter we best capture how financial institutions can contribute; our advisory services, including capital raises, may ensure that the right companies are provided with the capital they need to make a difference. This does not mean that we refrain from providing financial services to companies on other missions, but rather that we take pride in how our team of 35 dedicated in-house renewables specialists work towards a more sustainable future.
Our corporate finance renewables team executed 21 transactions totaling NOK 10+ bn in 2021. These transactions include capital raises within hydrogen, solar energy, offshore wind and ammoniac amongst other industries, facilitating the transition to renewable energy. The Arctic Renewables corporate finance team is one of the largest of its kind in the Nordics and is ready to assist legitimate players looking to contribute to the green transition.

Arctic’s engagement in the renewables sector is led by Harald von Heyden. Harald has extensive experience in renewable energy from Norway and internationally. Our renewables team consists of dedicated personnel within Corporate Finance as well as research analysts.
Associated companies
As part of our engagement in the sector Arctic acquired in November 2019 47.5% of the shares in Cleanworld AS, one of Europe’s largest brokers of renewable energy certificates. Cleanworld is a leader in broking green certificates, including Guarantees of Origin. The market is growing rapidly and spreading to new products and areas, driven by increased requirements as to the production and consumption of renewable energy in Europe and the rest of the world.
The company also owns 35.75% of the shares in the research company Veyt, a specialist in analysis and data on the green certificate market. With Cleanworld and Veyt joining the Arctic Group we aim to build a position as the leading centre of expertise with respect to broking, research and corporate services in the field of renewable energy.
